Hi! I just did a water change yesterday and replaced the almond leaves in my tank. This morning I saw this cloudy film on the glass and I can’t seem to scrape it off easily. The plecos also don’t seem to eat it. Any ideas to what this is? Could it possibly be just algae? I haven’t had any algae issues since this tank was setup and the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate are all at 0.

Can you take it off with a sponge? (Don’t use any sponge ever used for dishes or cleaning)

I tried scrubbing it off with none but it didn’t seem to work much. I’ll go wait for a day and see if it still stays there.

I see a lot of tannins. I get a small biofilm over the glass occasionally. Probably just because of the proteins in the food I feed the fish with. I find more water changes less biofilm on glass. Also less tannins in the water. Try more WC. Nearly always the answer regarding algae, bio films, tannins and whatever nutrients are floating in the water.
