Hello,

So over the last few months ive turned from a computer enthusiast to an aquarist, why? because its relaxing and sometimes programming gets a little boring and so does repairing computers, anyway my point is, I can build anything i want so why not build an web application for us aquarists for use with our tanks such as a way of recording our tank statistics?

We can record the chemical levels over the months and compare results, this is just an idea who knows we can have tons more features if people decide its a good idea, of course it will be free :)

Let me know your thoughts and ill start building and coding.

Yh its just an idea at the moment, but theres tons of things we could do with it also such as comparing tanks to other members and so on.

Why would i want to compare my water stats with someone else? I dont get it :D

I got a good idea, you come up with some amazing ideas and i'll pick holes in them. When you come up with an idea that i cant pick holes in, we got a winner! :D

Ok, Mabe not water stats but tank looks/designs and so on, perhaps people can give people ratings on there tank looks and stats, not sure :p as said ideas at the moment, Theres nothing i carnt build :D

The only thing i can think of is it could be used for people that are currently doing a tank cycle?

Maybe some kind of chart with different fish species and recommended tank sizes/tank mates/water stats ect but even still that would only be rough guidelines as everything is pretty much trial and error.

I agree defiantly :) somewhere to display statistics over recent months for numerous tanks as some people have more than a single tank and may want to keep record of all tanks throughout the year.

Shared spreadsheet on google docs. done.

But can you compare results over the months? My application could display a list of tanks with high PH or any other chemical you choose.

I'm not disagreeing or agreeing :) just going over a few things before we decide theres no point.

Im not sure anyone would care enough to want to compare readings. Everyones tap water is different and the variables used in cycling are rather massive too.

other than going "oh dash, you're processing your Ammonia 2 hours quicker than moi, you fiend!"
