weather loach

Hiya

My friend has a weather laoch all by himself in a 46g tank. She had some goldfish but they all recently died.

My friend is upset about this but as she has stocking space to spare, I suggested she get some friends for the loach, as I read they're sociable/shoaling fish.

My question is, will new loaches, which will proabbly be juveniles, get on ok with the current loach, which is about 6" long and 9 years old? Or would they fight? I don't know anything about them, I'm just trying to help her get her tank back on track! ...or should she just replace the goldfish?

They should get along just fine, since the minimum for most loaches (excluding clown loaches, and other larger loaches) is 20 gallons. so atleast 1 new friend will be good for him
