Ever since she moved here over 3 years ago, she would randomly go on about the Betta she used to have, and how awesome it was, so I figured we should finally go get her a new one so she would shut up about the old one... And now I've become obsessed.
We initially got one of those small Bettakeeper tanks:
I was not happy with it at all, sure they can live in a small aquarium, but a cat or dog can live in a small cage too, that doesn't mean they're happy though. We started reading a bunch online, and looking at other peoples setups on here and whatnot, and finally decided what we wanted to do:
He is now in a 10 gallon tank with 3 Platies (yes I know a lot of people say not to do this, etc) and a couple ghost shrimp.
There have been no problems between the fish so far, the Betta (which she has named Davey Jones.. ugh) has taken over the large cave on the left, and he will chase anyone away who trys to enter it. The only problem we did have was last weekend, I noticed the cover to the filter was laying behind the tank, and I had no clue how the hell that happened, but later that day found out how. We were downstairs cooking food, and when she came up, she found this moron standing ontop of the tank:
But that was easily solved by putting some stuff that blocked where he jumped up onto the shelf.
