I have a FOLR 65 gallon tank that and i believe it is time to start testing the water levels. Any advice on the type brand or no no's in purchasing the right kit. Also im kinda in the dark at what i want to be testing for and the optimal levels for my tank.

I always use salifert test kits as I think these are one of the most accurate although all test kits are only a rough guess. for a fish only tank, I would test PH, Nitrate, KH/ALK, Phosphate and S.G. but with a hydrometer or even better, a refractometer.

ste :)

Salifert only way to go if you want accurate reads. If using a swing-army hydrometer callibrate it against a known sample or with someone else's refractometer.
