Water level droping

is there any way of stopping the water level in my fish tank droping all the time?

Is your tank covered? If not, the best way to stop water evapourating is to cover it.

its covered but its slanty the cover beacuse it wont sit down straight and it runs down the sides of the tank

Is the tank sitting on a level surface? If it's dripping down the sides, sounds like it's either unlevel or overfilled.

I have a spare tank with just a ight across and no hood it loses about an inch of water a week through evaporation. If a tank has a hood it wont lose as much.

I seem to get the same sort of problem with mine, i think its just the Sunlight making the water evapourate.

all 3 of my 10 gallon tanks lose about 1 inch per week or so, but the 29 dosent lose much at all. All of them have hoods too. Weird

well its not in sunlight the ground could be uneven ill have a look ty

We loose water in our tanks do to evaporation when the house is dry it acts like a humidifier...... i also have water foutains and they do the same thing when the house is dry!
