the local shops sell something made in China I believe. I have no hesitation in buying it if it works as well like those from API, seachem and etc.

Thank you

The short answer is no, they are not the same. If you would like a longish chemistry oriented explanation I would be glad to oblige, many people find long chemistry lessons tedious.

what brand/product would you recommend then?

Seachem Prime or Tetra Aquasafe.

can you please help with seachem prime. seachem prime dosage is 5ml = 200Liters.

If my pail is only 20L, I would need a graduated cylinder to get correct/approximate measurement. Unless it is possible/okay for me to fill up the tank first and then add prime?

20 drops equals one ml. You can add Prime, or any dechlorinator for that matter, to the tank first than fill. I have a plain cheap eyedropper for smaller measurements, a larger one marked in ml for larger measurements. Either are available at most any drug store.

It is still as effective in tanks above 300litres. However, in the bigger tanks I am a fan of using pond conditioner as it is much more cost-effective. :good:

okay. but with prime dosage 5ml = 200L. 500mL bottle is good for 100K liters. that's a of water!

That is indeed a lot of water Jarthel. I use a very fine dropper that only holds 1 ml when full. It makes it easy for me to measure very small amounts of Prime. I use a bit more than the recommended amount because my water supplier does not warn when they jump up the chlorination levels. Even so, I do a 20 liter water change using about 1/2 to 3/4 ml of Prime

I looked at seachem's website and they have more concentrated form of prime (seachem safe) in a powder form. though the only problem I can see is how to measure such small dosage (100mg = 60L).
