Water Changes

yes but carbon filters remove chlorine. They use some hydrogen type salts and they all use the same thing, i wouldnt be surprised if carbon took it out but not instantly, the chlorine is removed on contact and i think the dechlorinator will take a few filter turnovers before it is lost.

yes but i take my carbon out of the filter while i do water changes!
 
thats not that easy for some people, especially for people with canister filters.
 
We are due to complete our fishless cycle soon so we are looking at a big water change (75-90%). DO we need to worry about getting the water up to temp before going in as there will be no fish? Once we are cycled do I need to keep the ammonia levels up before stocking to ensure the bacteria don't die? Say we finished cycling on friday and were stocking saturday. Would that be ok without adding any ammonia overnight?
