Water Changes Made Simple....

Yeah thats the same one i have in my cupboard under the sink, the more you tighten it down the more it slips off. sucks.
I know how you feel, none of the so called adaptors fix on my tap either, probably cos it's oval shaped :p

On average a water change would take me 2 hours and followed this order.

.5 12L buckets of water out
.Rinse each bucket
.5 12L buckets of water in
.Clean the floor (thank goodness I have wooden floors)

And to be honest it turned the hobby into somewhat of a chore overtime and then I found this.

Aqueon water changer!

Now my water change takes 20mins max so I feel compelled to recommend it :good:

*EDIT*
I used this to connect the unit to my tap
connector

ebay import. Yup you will be charged something like £25 for shipping from the US but once you get hold of it you'll wonder how you EVER went without one.

This is mine in use at the 1:37 mark

*Note* In that vid I was refilling a 180 at a slow pace and the whole thing still took under 30 mins

ah yes have seen them on fle bay at £35 and post works out the same. £70 odd pound is a bit much for what is, both diy systems work off the same kind of thing :)

Apologies for the mobile link. On my phone (yup I am sherlock)

because your adding water into your intake as well as removing it your going to get fresh clorine water left in your intake tube which as soon as your filter turnes on will go through your filter.
Nice work tho.

I've seen a number of people on other threads comment about adding it to the outflow, which also has the bonus of powering the removal from the tank. This would also resolve the residual water as it will be pushed out from the outflow pipe. Using a system of 3 valves, leave outflow open, open hosepipe and block spraybar. Water comes out. Close hosepipe, switch off filter, close outflow main tap. Open spraybar, open hosepipe, connect to tap, turn on water.
