I just syphon out and trickle back in with a garden hose; heck of a lot easier!
Essentially what I do also, easy with a mixer tap.

..Noooo.... both green taps are shut during the whole water change process....the water drains and refills from the intake line side...........This got me confused, water from tap goes straight into the filter , yes i suppose its possible a small amount of dechlorinator might also be passing through but i would expect the concentration of chlorine to be much higher when it hits the filter directly rather than going into the tank first.
A good effort, but not enough thought, certainly not something i would do. I'll stick to the hose for both draining and filling.
Water from the tap goes no where into the filter mate........ti drains before the filter and adds back before the filter.....
I dont follow explain further!
Ah! You turn the green tap on the filter pipe and force it to go out of the spraybar/outlet? Now that i understand.

Beauty of this is that you dont even have to open the top if you got a lid....no spills either...( not that I am saying you spill water )
Hozelock do different types of adaptors mate......check them out.....Noooo.... both green taps are shut during the whole water change process....the water drains and refills from the intake line side...........This got me confused, water from tap goes straight into the filter , yes i suppose its possible a small amount of dechlorinator might also be passing through but i would expect the concentration of chlorine to be much higher when it hits the filter directly rather than going into the tank first.

ah yeah course, understand now.
nice idea, shame my mixer tap wont accept any of the hoselock connectors as its such a lame shape. cant be bothered to change the tap.

my tap, been here since we moved in, not my choice! ;D
I think its a great idea, think some people have been sniffing to much prime the tap water should not go any where bacteria/sponges you have 2 taps which you shut off and for extra protection you could just shut off the bigger one that a key which joins to the canister but would not be needed
