How often should I do water changes for my channa bleheri, and how much? Cheers

Weekly, enough to keep the nitrate concentration under 20ppm BEFORE a water change.

It depends. If your filter's already matured, then weekly, about 20-30% change. If it's a new one, then about daily, 50%!

Hi.
A small weekly water change will be more than sufficient.
Most Channa (especially smaller) live in quite stagnant waters.
Some even in swampy water pools!

Ok thanks for the replies, weekly it is then. Just one more thing, I want to get some sort of live food for them like mealworms, will they be ok? Also could I use cockles that are in jars from the supermarket? Thanks

i asked this question on the snakehead form and a lot of people on there only change the water 4 times a year.
