Warning

hi. I have 2 female yellow platys, an orange mickey mouse female and an orange mickey mouse male which all get along great. If anything the orange male prefers the yellow females!!!! so i dont think the colour has alot to do with ur problem. may be you just have a grumpy fish! :/

Hi

We have had a similar problem, first in my boyfriends tank where his White Moon Platy male picked on every other Platy in the tank especially the Red Wag Tail male, but also the females, we ended up taking him back to the LFS.

Then in my tank i had a Blue Moon Platy, who also picked on everybody so we put him in the large tank with the biger Platys thinking this would stop him, well it didn't he picked on everybody even the Red Tailed Black Shark :D who was 8 times his size, im afraid to say he went back to the LFS as well.

I now have one Sunburst Platy (Pink Moon) male left in my tank and he is turning out to be the same, but he only seems to pick on the Sunset Platys (male and female) but leaves the other females alone.

I had two sunset platies that bullied together a single tux platy, so i removed one of the sunsets and once i did this the other seem depressed and died a week later. So now i have no sunsets.

Anyway i have 4 male platies, 1 tuxedo, 1 rainbow, 1 orange mm and 1 white calico.

Its funny but the two platies calico and orange mm seem to have pair bonded, yes i know their males, but they never leave each others side, they do chase the other male platies away if they come near, but don't bully. Rainbow seems to like being chased as he likes to try and follow calico and mm, it ends up being like a game of tag.
