Want Some Opinions :)

they are indeed, but usually people get big tanks to put big fish in them lol. I enjoy challenging people's expectations

I can't wait. I miss my rummy noses so much

Caz, let me throw some cold water on your plans. I own a 6 foot tank and it ends up populated much like a 4 foot 55 gallon, about 210 litre, tank. I have a few more of each fish but the variety is not much different to that smaller tank. I will not easily give up my big tank but that is more an emotional statement than a practical one. I have had that tank for over 30 years, including all of the time my kids lived with me, and I simply could not easily let it go. That does not make it any more practical though.

But, OM, if she plans on making it a Paludarium, she'll have the stocking of the 4 footer + the added space for the above ground plants. Just adding to the argument.

6 feet  I've seen my friends 6 ft. marine. That's one big tank. His is same dimensions as that. Perfect size IMO.

All of my tanks are too tall & not wide enough. My next tank will be at least 4 feet but I'd like to get a 6 foot instead. I mean my wife will be pissed either way, so why not go for the bigger one :shifty:

Hmm so are you planning to stock the 6ft with the 240 fishes? If you can fill and have the time to maintain a 6ft then go for it!
That, and I looooong for a grapefruit. Oh no wait, that's Eddie Izzard...

At last, another Izzardite! :) Sorry to deviate from thread a little. Go for the 6 footer...

:hyper: :hyper: I thought it had gone unnoticed by everyone! :good:

And yes, OM, it will not be full. I imagine it will be about 12-15 inches depth of actual water.

At this stage what I'm actually pondering is whether it should be covered so that there can be emergent plants that like high humidity like crypts/anubias or open so that I can try to grow a triffid like Tom's? Or a combination of the two - one end open with obligatory triffid and the other end covered with glass cover plates - the humidity would not be as high as if it were completely covered, but would be higher than ambient humidity if it were completely open?

Tank is currently at £111.90 with 1 day and 3 hours to go... still within my price range :hey:
