I finally decided to give my lovely Wahookie a chance to reproduce those unique genes. Conditioned him and my orange plakat female from Kelly for two weeks, and put them in the spawning tank yesterday morning. My first hint that something wasnt right was the fact that he was more interested in ME than HER. If I casually peaked in to see what was happening, he'd be chillin in the opposite corner from her, and then come flying up to see me. She was interested, but noooo. And did he blow one bubble? Once again noooooo. Left them in overnight hoping he'd bubblenest, but he didn't. So I let her out, just to see if he wanted to bubblenest while spawning, and he could care less! Took a few halfhearted passes at her, but nothin. I gave up. :grr: Can't believe that fish, he's like no other betta! Both in looks and in personality. :look:

Let's just say I just put the black plakat in there now. We'll see if he can get the job done. :sly:

The nest time you try him...put the black plakat beside his nest area......so he can flare at him...they sure get excited...flare at the outside male...shimmy for the female. you can see a visible change in his actions.

fisher - I actually did try that. Didn't work! He just doesn't care about the lil lady. I'll try him again once his other female gets here. Maybe he'll like her better. :shifty:

He certainly does have a goofy personality, but it's what makes him so loveable. And I must admit, it does make me feel special that he loves me more... :*) :p
