A couple of days ago there was a bluejay fighting with the cardinals in the backyard across from mine. The cardinals had taken up territory in some bushes, and the bluejay had apparently decided the entire backyard was his. He would dive-bomb the bushes, then fly over to the powerline and bark at the cardinals, then he would fly over to my balcony and just keep on barking. (I know they don't really bark, but that's what it sounds like.)

It didn't take long for the cats to notice, so they slunk over to the patio window and chirped and clacked at the bird, then he saw the cats and started up a godawful racket. This went on for about an hour, the bluejay flying over to gripe at the cardinals, and then back to my balcony to gripe at the cats. I managed to catch a few pic, sorry for the quality, I need a new camera, its just a crappy little 4mp, and I was shooting through dirty glass, I guess I need to wash the windows too. Anyways, hope you all enjoy.

hes pretty never seen one before, we dont get them in the UK i think

we always get them here in connecticut. my cats always go crazy on our screened in porch (indoor cats) when they see a bird

Bluejays are pretty, but can get quite annoying, their screams get loud and they are brave birds, arent afraid to swoop at anything if it gets too close to a nest

They're not that bad, a little loud true, but I wouldn't call them flying pigs.

You are so lucky....you can show us photos of your views any time your windows look cleaner than mine anyway...I dont do windows cant be bovvered...tfs
