Ok my question is, is there any fish, or invertabrate (like shrimp or something) that cleans the tank floor by eating food and whatever PLUS...poop? i want something that eats the fish poop, i doubt there is a fish, but if there is, that would be freaking awesome! Please answer if you know! :)

No there is nothing that will eat poop.

well, a snail will eat just about anything, sometimes even poop, I think, but they produce a large amount of waste themselves. you'll still have to do water changes and gravel vac, so it doesn't really matter in the end.

i just did a google search an found nothing about poop eating fish. it would be really bad ass thoe...my oscar would have a new friend(as long as he does eat it does)

The only thing I've ever heard of that eats poo is called a gravel vac...

If you think about it, anything that clears up waste would also have to produce its own waste, the stuff has got to go somewhere, so it's never a good idea to introduce a new animal to get a cleaner tank.

If any fish is hungry enough, I think that they'll eat poo if they had to. Sooner or later, they'll starve from eating poo, and you'll have to feed them, so in the end, they won't be eating poo.

well i guess eating poo would be like a human eating a fart. no nutrition! :p now if you dont mind im going to go make myself a poo sandwhich:p

I dont think anything eats poop, my best guess would be a ghost shrimp or something of the sort but i dont even think they would, a gravel vac is a beast at eating poop tho.

nope. I research fish almost everyday on the net for fun, never heard of a fish eatin poo but plecos eat all the algea and make the tank look pretty! (but i can see that you have some in your tank already) :D

Well, actually there are fish that are Poo Eaters. They are very fast and can be aggressive as well.

Do some research to see if they will fit your tank environment. Several people have kept them successfully with african cichlids.

Scatophagus multifasciatus

They are a Detrius Feeder and an herbivore.

i believe scats are brackish though, right?

i have also just read this:

"A lot can be found in areas where sewer pipes dump into bodies of water. This is how they get their ever popular nickname “s*** eaters”. However it is inconclusive as to weather they actually do eat the waste or the organisms that feed on the waste. They are primarily vegetarian fishes, and shouldn’t be trusted with plants."

They are considered brackish but do seem to thrive well in african community tanks. Atleast from the several people I have spoken to who currently raise them.
