Very Tiny Nano Thoughts

I had a look aaron - the smallest filter is 160lph, so a little too much, but not nearly so much as the mignon.

I saw the light I think you're talking about did you mean this one? It looks good, except it says you can't replace the bulb, you have to buy a whole new unit. Also it's 40cm long, which is a bit big.

What about this? It doesn't give much spec - wattage etc. How effective do you reckon they'd be?

I was thinking I could get TWO arc pods, either two of the 9watts or two 11watts? It might look cluttered though, it'd definately be better just having one lamp unit.

the wattage on theose little lamps are 0.4w! perhaps you can just get a desk lamp? Might be easier.

The light is the same one i was on about, i am sure they used to do an 18w though, because George used one on his 'little mountain'

I think I'm going to go with two arc pods, just because spares are easy to come by (replacement bulbs). Now... do I go for two 9watts, or two 11watts?

I'm wanting to grow an HC carpet. The light only has to penetrate 8 inches of water, 7 once the substrate's in. Will I get away with the 9watt lamps? Two making 18watts?

Blah. I got the date wrong. The tanks aren't avaliable till December.

I'm thinking of going with TPN+ as my ferts. It's cool having such a small tank - you can get tropica ferts without it being expensive!

One more question, will the shrimp be alright with easycarbo?

2 x 9w will be ok, George used an 18w inhis 'little mountain' with HC, Blyxa, staurogyne sp & pogostemon helferi

shrimp are fine with easycarbo.

I found this on ebay. What do you think? I'm worried about being able to find replacement bulbs for it. It's soooo much cheaper than the arc pods though. By the time I'd bought two arc pods, I'd have spent twice the amount the tank is costing me.

hi, i had a tank this size, i had a light fitted to the lid and that heated the tank quite quickly so i didnt need a heater and i had pgymy corys and endlers in there, i can also get little barbs in there but i didnt pay to much attention to it so got rid of it!

Good luck
Jodie

They are supposed to be quite good, even at £6, that would be the cost of a replacment bulb for the arc pod, so buying a new one everytime wont be bad. You could always use a normal desk lamp though.

I've been looking at desk lamps, but they're confusing me. I'm worried about the kelvin rating of them and for the price of the light on ebay, I might as well just get them. They're a similar price to desk lamps
