Hello all!
Recently I've been noticing a few of my fish in my 64L have been very skittish.
My sword tails have been acting normal half the time, and the other half hiding underneath the filter. My hybrid babies have also been doing the same, hiding with the swords, but just now I went to open the feeding hatch in the lid, and one shot to the back, then to the side and bumped into the edge of the tank! I also sometimes see the mentioned fish clamped, and my female sword and one of the hybrids occasionally flicks, but no white spots are visible.

I'm currently treating with eSHa 2000 to treat fungus on one of my platies and (hopefully) the flicking with the 2 fish mentioned above.
Water parameters are:
0ppm Ammonia
0ppm Nitrate
0ppm Nitrite

I do 50% w/cs every weekend, tank has been running for just over a year now, and I was advised the above readings are normal for an understocked, heavily planted tank such as mine.

What could be wrong with the fish?! None have anything outwardly wrong with them and their eating and pooping normally!
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you! :)

Provide them with more hiding places and perhaps plants to hide among. The safer they feel the more they will relax and the more you will see of them IMO.

Put a dark backing on the back of the tank and give them some tall bushy plants (fakes will do) or ornaments to retreat to.

I could understand Pygmy Swordtails in a 64l long term, but not standard 10cm Swordtails, minimum 3-foot tank if not 4.

Thank you both for your replies!
My tank is already heavily planted and I have two pieces of bog wood and 2 caves...should I add more plants anyway and see if that helps?

I believe my swords must be pygmies then, They're fully grown and only 4cm :good:

Try and get a photo or two of the group to upload to teh forum, there are a few species called "Pygmy Swordtails." :)
