Utter confusion..

You might try adding another male to the mix. Maybe put a male in the chimney for awhile, or in a container outside the spawn tank. Might make him go to nesting. Sometimes I put one in a beanie outside the tank. It work well, and the nesting male really starts showing off.

Wow he is a lovely colour, I really hope he gets the hang of it soon before he loses out to the black/tuxedo!

I just came home and found him doing...nothing...just hanging out and cruising the tank :grr:
WOW  you asking ‘what’s wrong with him’ now that a surprise usually when it comes to bettas u the expert (well u are the one who helps us with our bettas when they are in trouble)

Nice Color tho..

Hi Kelly, he looks like a real charmer!!! i love his colouring!!

shame that mummy is having to do all the nest building, lol, she mite aswell be mum and dad! lol, making the nest, then releasing the eggs, all she needs now is a willy, lol.

i hope he gets to grips with it soon! Gud luck!

Thanks you guys  I did a water change this morning and moved the cup since he only had a few bubbles in it. Then gave them some grindals. I noticed him being especially aggressive and she had a tear or two. But I just found them spawning about an hour ago. There are eggs...but no nest  He's just sticking them under the cup and they fall while the female picks them up. All in all I must brag yet again on what great spawners the orange girls are. Such good little women

I dunno, I'm nervous
I removed the female a couple of hours ago because she was hiding and he was obviously done. He has a very small nest with around 40 eggs  We shall see...

thats awsome!

Congrats on getting this far with them :) That picture above, I know it's just an optical allusio, but it looks like he's laying down...lazy man! haha (I know he's swimming down, and what "looks" like the floor is actually the side of the tank, but still it looks like he's laying down, Lol)

Yeah Kelly! Can't wait to come raid your fishroom again and see the new babes. :D I love your pictures and stories. They make me smile and remind me of my own stories with my babies.

I just went and pulled him :X He was guilty before proven innocent because after he came out I noticed the eggs ARE still there. I thought most were gone :*) I told him "Its not you,it's me,I'm the crazy one,not you"  So now,the waiting game.
