Upside-down Catfish question

They have white spots all over their body's, is this normal? Most of the pics I have seen has the white spots, and they are all evenly spaced. Mine have those and some random white speckles, could this be ich?

When at my lfs, I thought their upside downs had ich, upon closer inspection, it was teir natural coloring. Boy did I feel like an idiot after pointing out the spots
to the owner.
