Hi, sometime soon i am going to be upgrading from a 55 gallon to a 125 or 150 gallon.

Currently in my 55 gallon: 3 Bloody parrot chichlids, 2 armored plecos, 7 Debauwi Catfish, 1 Abrimites Headstander, 2 Pearl Gouramis, 1- tri-colored shark. All of these fish are medium- sized. I know im overstocked, thats one reason im upgrading.

First of all, ehat is the general cost of a 125 gallon?/150 gallon?(just the tank and tops)

I would really love to put in a stingray, but I know I can't, so i was thinking of adding a fw puffer.

Is there any puffers that could go in with these tankmates?

I have powerfull filtration.

Would else could go in there?

Any really cool looking oddballs?

no puffers are suitable for that community, sorry.

but try looking into black ghost knifefish. one of those might be suitable.

Well i want something that has a personality. Is there anything with a personality that will be ok with my fish?

I also dont want anything thats really natural. I dont like to spend money on something i see once a month.

Any suggestions on fish are welcomed?

Thx

Bonjour!!

I do not know how aggressive your tankmates are, so I am not recommending from the compatibility. If you're looking for an oddball with personality, a bichir would be the BEST EVER! I think a senegal bichir would be alright. Bichirs have super personality! Once you enter the room with the tank in it, he will follow you around everywhere in the tank! Bichet (my ornate bichir) knows his name and always comes whenever I come to the glass, I love to see him eat, and he lets me pet him. They are quite interesting because of their awesome way of swimming, their cool looks, and everything about them! I mean, just the fact that you have a prehistoric fish itself is just stunning, right? They are also extremely peaceful. The only thing is, if the tankmates are small enough, he will eat them. While some fish (like, the aggressive breeds) may see their tankmates as either food or enemies, these bichirs see them as either food or friends (well, just ignoring, too). Senegals grow to 10"-14" (my senegal is around 12", never measured). Absolutely fabulous fish. Otherwise, Blackghost Knifefish can be pretty tamed, too. Such as hand feeding and holding them; although they are not as active. Another interesting/tamable one is african climbing perch, but they can be a bit aggressive. If you like small, schooling ones, glass fish/catfish are cool to watch. Many more, but those are my favorites <3

well, good luck finding one! your new tank should be amazing!!

xoxo,
Odette

Stingray = No
Puffer = No (very very few community Puffers)
BGK = Yes but probably not for life as they grow to 20"+

My vote would be a for a Senegal, the only problem you may find is the other fish stealing all the food as they seem to be far slower feeders than other fish.

This is just an idea. Since im only 14 I dont no if I can get my mom to let me do it.

What if I kept my fish that I have in my 55 gallon and bought a 150/maybe 175 for a whole new set of fish?
Would my 55 gallon be overstocked?

Again what is the generall cost of a 150 gallon tank?(I probably will get lucky and find one in the free trader)?

Could I get a puffer then?
Is there anything that can go with them?
What is a good decent sized puffer that can fit in a 150 gallon tank?

the 150 would support a Fahaka on its own for life.

All right the puffer is out then.
If I kept my other fish in my 55 gallon, what would be a good show fish for the 150 gallon? Would a red-tailed paraya work?
