Is that better?

I don't the brown hairy stuff just isn't showing up in the picture but, trust me, it's there ... in abundence.

I have some fantastic fertilizer though. It's by Dennerle comes in a green bottle and I just add one squirt every week after a water change. The colour in my plants have really come out since I've been using it.

I like it! The plants looks lovely and lush against dark background. :good:

UPDATE:

I ripped the tank apart last night.

Yup, I got sick of looking at the hairy algae and decided to snap off the leaves that had any on them. By the time I'd finished there was very little left and the tank looked bare. My cories were sat looking at it wondering what the heck just happened!

So, this morning I decided I was no longer pleased with the way my tank looked and I was going to do something about it. I took myself to one LFS only to find their plants tank emptied of everything except one bunch of cabomba - no way is that going back in my tank! The platies thought it fun to rip it apart and leave the filter to block up with all the bits floating around.

So, off to my other LFS. Loads of plants. So I got 5 bunches of Amazon Sword (because they do so well in my tank)for £8 and two bunches of a red plant that I'd not seen before. She did tell me it's name but I forget my own name given the chance!

I also decided to give Oto's another chance and got two.

I've spent the last hour or so planting and messing about with the tank. The filter has had a clean out (in tank water of course!) and is now running quite a bit faster. I've been to pets@home to get some stresscoat and got some Interpet Anti Hair Algae too. No idea if it works but the minute I see anymore hairy stuff it's going in the tank!

All I need to do now is wait for the sun to go down and the tank lights to come on and then take some new photo's.

You can give me your opinions .... :D
