Unfortunatly, that is hardly proof at all :p 17 will get ya 20!!!

See I got my lady hooked on MMORGS, and MY mom has not only 2 tanks now but a pond to boot!!! now... if I could just get my mom hooked on mmorgs as well.. the nagging would stop... still working on that one....

The key to winning is: don't hide your cult from them... FORCE THEM TO JOIN!

You could leave the country... I had an apartment over-seas 2 rooms the one room I custom built 2 steel tank racks the who room was covered in tanks floor to celing. In the corner of the room I put one large bow front tank ... it was big enough for me to compleatly fit in... we have a funny video, but my camera broke :( of me in it swimming like a fish. and with pumps and filters and lights and 1000s of rainbows neons and plants and gravel and 40 cichlids or so... I did it all for less than 400 bucks :) ... only problem was I kept running out of electricity (we were only alloted a certian amount per 3month period).

Best part... mom didn't know a thing :)

lol, reading your post made me think of this episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond"

When they were buying there house, ray made a map with three circles, one was "Extremly Close, Parents Pop in unexpectatdly" the second was "Far, but not too far for an overnight visit and too far to pop in for no reason" and the third was "Too Far, they will stay for an overnight visit"

Natrually he wanted to live in the second circle

Good Luck!!!

Just sort of throw a blanket or something over the tank and tell your parents that it's a valuable piece of furniture.

*turns away from the computer* "No Mom, it's true! I'm going to sell it at 60 and retire! No, you can't see it, that'll ruin its value!"

Gotta go . . .

"No, it's not a fishtank! It's a . . . um . . . anniversary present!"

i had the same problem,

theyll get used to it, and dont tell them the price, works for me :)

( and if they ask, say it was a scrap from one of theyre ond tanks, when things go underwater, they always look old  ) or just say it was 2 pounds/dollars

Hey happy days,

Hi Sanj :)

That's wonderful news! Now you can help her set it up and impress her with all you know about fish

Be sure to let us know how that works out. :D

better yet... get married and show your new wife how cute a clown fish is.. or some other real purty fish.

btw.. ive been told that "Your going to get a saltwater tank so I can have a clown fish" read that as.. "your going to get a tank, so she can watch the fish and i do all the cleaning/work"

my responce to wifes "demand" ok.. im for that.

Oh I really feel for you, My MIL is the same, they complained and moaned after we got a cat
they were like " :grr: oh there are too expensive to keep and so on"
Like $4 a week in food is really expensive
If only they paid attention to my tank and realised the cost of setting it up properly, the test kits and so forth - for fish!!
They would be "owllll why cant you have goldfish, there cheap"

My father loves my fish tank, and everytime he comes around he is pointing out areas to improve my tank - like he knows best :shifty:

My Dad is worse than Me.

The day I got my 3by2. I only went in too stock my new 15l tank that had finished cycling and came out with the 3by2 with all the kit and cabinet for £50.00.

He wishes he had never brought it now.

I have used Valentines day to get new fish, got red fish for the wife but really for me, that was bubba red's excuse.

Just got an albino Cory on the way home just 45 mins ago. Now what should i say when they notice it.
