Tried this today after finding a clump of bryopsis on the wall of one of the rear chambers. Before throwing it out I thought i'd just try this...................

Placed it on the algae clip ,as my fish love their greens , at about 2 o clock today and have just removed the entire bunch and replaced with algae sheets. This was the scene as soon as my hand came out to grab the camera...

Just proves that even starvo fish that devour most things algae will not even touch this stuff !!

Personally would have said no tina but have heard of a few that have nibbled it..think if no other algae in tank some larger tangs or fox faces may give it a try

whats ur stocking by the way.. u have a nice line up.

Ironically enough buddyboy, when I had my Kole tang, he would ONLY eat byropsis... Barely touched the nori I gave him.

I had one back then and it would only scrape off the sides of the tank and totally ignored mine,lol...
Just goes to prove that our stock don't read the books we do,lol...why the fish and coral of the week will be handy in here as these little bits of info from several different keepers can show just how diverse each individual fish can be, even if of the same species.

Books are never definitive resources anyway, as soon as a book hits print it is out of date.

Research papers are being presented all the time, mainly written through experimentaion and experience. The experiences of forum members does now seem to make a difference when books are written.

Learning from experience along with making decisions based on current evidence is the way forward for any science subject, aquarium / marine biology being an example.

No two humans are the same, why should two fish be. This is why sharing is so informative, think back to the days before Live Rock, could any coral be kept alive in captivity?? No, constant development of methods has changed our hobby unbelievably, long may that continue.
