tropical plants

hello all

i want some plants for my cold water aquarium but i cant find anything around where iu live could i put some tropical plants in my aquarium would this effect my gold fish in any way at all you know disease them

Have you tried e-bay? I think some plants can go in either cold or tropical tanks. My son has Hogwart, Java Fern and Amazon swords in his goldfish tank and his fish are fine - except they eat the hogwart.
