I have a small RC Oranda and a recently bought a small blue oranda. I heard from a number of helpful members that to have a good hood growth and a healthy fish altogether, you need to supplement their diet 2-3 times a weak with special treats such as high protein foods. I have freeze-dried blood worms. The problem is that these blood worms float and might cause my fancies to gulp air and cause swim bladder disorders. Since tropical fish food flakes are more high in protein than goldfish flakes (this is right, isn't it?) Can i feed my two fancies normal goldfish flakes and tropical, sinking flakes (soaked before hand) few times a week to supplement them with enough protein for good growth? If so, which protein fish food would you recommend out of normal tropical fish food, or betta splendens (siamese fishting fish) flake food which i think is higher in protein? Thankyou for your responses.

I feed my fancy goldfish most things like, bloodworms, daphnia, brimestrimp, krill, all frozen, freeze dried tubilex, veg in broc, peas, cabbage, acassionally a sproat, algae tablets, algae flakes, veg flakes, pellets, goldfish flakes, abit of chicken now and then and turkey, even like a bit of brown bread, but mine don't like fruit.
