Triop Breeding Tanks

Some may have seen my triop thread with triop.l or triop.c, some may have also seen my other thread about selling them, well i managed to make £300 on 1 triop in a month lol so ive decided as i enjoy just raising them so much i might aswell dedicate some tanks to them! so here it is...

thats the area so i started to base it on a design i knew worked (used it on a large 4ft tank) but this time without legs!

pretty basic yet effective! it only took me few hours to make it, its reinforced aswell by the bottom beams you can see, so should hold fine, honestly though i was pretty scared adding the tanks on it and filling them up lol

but..................

it worked! i will be updating again very soon just other things got in the way, either way the tanks hold just under 25Litres (uk) so are perfect for triops, there sand was chosen just for them as it holds eggs very well, now all i have to do is finsh it off so exspect the update soon!

ive got to had the hatching tanks stand above aswell as the light for it, should be good

Lol, thought I was bad for making space in my bedroom for more tanks!
Love the idea of breeding and raising Triops, remember my girls having these when they were young. Sadly, they only lived for about 2 months as they came in a cheap, nasty set up and I was pretty clueless.
Good luck with the project, I shall be keeping an eye out for updates.

you can get them from ebay

"Triops cancriformis" there is a guy who sells them on there,

i should have posted before as i was selling them aswell

im intent on breeding "red cancriformis" though! - just a albino kind really

so thats pretty much it, i might try raise some triop.L as i do have there eggs but i know have 3 different species! and 3 tanks (there is one not in the picture but at the side of my bed) ive yet to tidy it up properly but i think its the perfect setup for something i really enjoy doing, and it even makes me a bit of spare change

so come on what do you all think?!?!?

I think it's a good DIY job! The shelf can do with a bit of paint or vanish ofcourse

Those Triops of yours, are they hard to care for, feed and will they get on with other fish, guppies and corydoras for example?

thanks, ye it could do with it but i dont want to and really dont have the time what with my other fish tanks and kids to look after lol,

dont know much about triops huh? they only live for a few months then die if they were in a tank with guppys...or any other fish they would become dinner lol, i would say there pretty easy to care for, its just getting them to hatch and the first few weeks which are a pain mate

lol!!! no i was selling them for around £6 a batch, I sold them in in small bags of sand with about 70 eggs in, pretty popular! and must of sold over 50 easily, oh i also made a gift box for them, was a prety good auction and was real fun to do to be honest, now i juts cannot wait to get it all started again,

well yes im hoping to get some triops but at the moment its so warm in my bedroom they wont hatch...the tank is sitting on 27 degrees!!! and its not even got a heater

including eggs at Argos
i only want it for the eggs like
i might put the rest of the kit
in the classifieds when i get
it i will let you know when i get some
and we can compare note
and maybe a few tips on how to get
them to hatch
