I think one of my otos is female and she seems to have become large lately so I might see some fry form them too.
if the other oto is male and if he is still in there, hardly ever seem them at the same time hehe, planeted tanks and all there hidng places.
If they were my fry, I'd go with just a tiny amount of the LiquiFry, at least for the first week or so. They are very tiny now, but grow fast and will be bigger then. The flake food softens when it is in the water and even small corys can eat it, but unless it is exceedling fine I don't know how newly hatched fry will do with it.
It would be best to keep the temperature stable for the fry. They are just like newborn babies and need to be catered to for a while.
There are products that will remove chlorine and chloramine on the market that can be measured out by the drop to prepare small quantities of water. I use API Tap Water Conditioner (by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals) but I think Wardley's still makes a product that can be measured by drops too. Neither one is expensive and it's something that won't go to waste.
It's not just the cold that you have to worry about. Temperature fluctuations, especially quick warm ups, can effect the immune systems of corys and make them more apt to come down with bacterial infections. This is what you are trying to prevent by doing daily water changes. It just doesn't make sense to take a chance by trying to save a little money this way.
ok mate thanks, I think I have some normal stuff left over, and I'll venture to the pet shop asap, which will be thursday, coz I work 9am-7pm every day and I'm not off till thursday
long shifts but 4 day weeks are great
how do you clean your tank? just use a tank scraper? (erm the thing you buy for removed algae, no the magnetic ones, the ones on a stick)
