Could there be thing where new members only have aceess to cirtian parts of the forum because you see members who post to sell things in Buy/Sell/Swap alot with maybee 1 post count and if there is no response on their item you wont see them ever again. And i feel althought some people abuse the forum as free advertisement. If you had to rack up maybee 50 posts in other parts of the forum to gain acess to the other parts then people can see that you are here to be helpfull to others.

It's mainly a limit on what the forum can do, many things would be great but the website isn't built for fiddly things like that.

Strangly enough I saw a thread on another forum almost exactly the same as this one yesterday and I will say exactly what I said there.

The post count is a very bad thing to go by. Just because someone has 50, 100 etc posts does not mean anything. You could have 10,000 and still not be trustworthy or have only 1 or 2 posts yet be very trustworthy.

To rack up the 50 (or whatever number) posts if you don't have anything to say/add will mean that many people will create worthless topics just to get enough posts. It also means that people who see stuff advertised if they google it will not be able to access that area with out gaining the posts by which time the item will almost certainly be sold.

Both the buyer and the seller should be wary when purchasing/selling stuff through the internet but unfortunatley it is a risk that sometimes you have to take.

HAH! You're telling me. I sold a sword online for 1500 dollars and recieved a check for 7,000 to cash and wire the rest of the money to someone else. I knew it was a hoax. So, when I got the check in I turned it in to the postmaster and the police department.

I agree fully with that disclaimer!
