Tough Decision

Actually Inchworm, I bothered to read the profile and all I can see in there is a 55 gallon. When people buy new fish they don't always immediately update their profile (and perhaps wrongly) I assumed that was the only tank he had - with the spare empty 10 gallon in the basement. Unless I missed something that's obvious :dunno:

Edit: Actually - I just saw the small print "do not click" below his signature picture. It's really not that easy to see and obvious what it would lead to.
I don't think I did anything wrong by assuming that all he had was the 55 gallon as per his profile.

Yes i have 3 tanks, but i wanted to cut down on the amount of work so i took apart one of my 10G but if it is for the cories then i can set it back up anytime. The sparkling gouramis from my experience are sneaky fish, they nip each other and other fishes at night when they are sleeping, or when my cories are resting, i've witnessed. With a filter for a 20G on a 10G, i think the cories can live happily in the 10G, even if the recovering on my 55G takes more than 2/3 weeks time. Thanks everyone, i'll see if i can get them this weekend. Btw inchworm, i hope the gosseis will be as healthy and pretty as yours :D

I'd set up the 10 gallon bare bottom with clean filter (as in new) get the temp up and add the fish. I'd keep them in low light situation and keep the amonia build up low by zeolite and/or AmQuel of some sort. Light feeedings and by the time your other tank is cleared they should've had enough time in quarantine.

I think it's good to mention the cross-contamination potential whenever explaining or recommending the use of cloning. I wasn't thinking and shared media all over between tanks when one tank had been infected and I thought was clear. Fortunately only one tank was contaminated out of about nine tanks. Unfortunately it was the hundred usg that got cross contaminated.
