Its POURING down rain here and my bgk has been acting a little more active lately.I know they are electric fish...could it be because of the the electric "movement" in the clouds and the lightning all around...so far electricity is holding up but im worried about if my power goes out and the filter goes off during the night.how much damage to the bacteria will it cause if it does...sorry didnt mean to make this such a long post...

I oftentimes see changes in activity in my fish during storms, have read (somewhere) that fish can sense changes in barometric pressure. I can usually count on a good storm to induce my corys to spawn! I just recently acquired a BGK, don't know of and haven't as yet observed any changes in behavior due to electricity in the air, but it sounds like an excellent theory!

hey ghostknife my african cichlids go absolutely nuts when it is raining or getting ready too rain i also think it has t do with the barometric pressure. but hwat a show they put on its awesome
