Agghhh!

I've experienced my first loss of coral in my tank, a torch coral overnight lost a head. It was killed by what looked like a jelly slime which progresivly made its way over the head. In the morning, the head was dead.

About 8hrs later, I noticed the same slime creeping over the body of another smaller head, within a few hours the head was compleatly covered.

I done some research and it seems to be brown slime disease (although this was a pinky colour) which seems like a pretty horrible dsiease leading to a corals fataility. I picked up the torch and removed both of the affected heads. This morning, one of the largest heads seems a little strange, I'm guessing I will lose the coral (backed up by the majority of articles I've read)

Apart from an iodine dip (which I've read has varying levels of success) is there anything else I can do?

The only thing I can recommend is what you have already done; remove the infected heads. I once had a xenia get this, and unfortunately the entire coral went from healthy to dead in a day. So sometimes even fragging does not work.

Well I've checked the coral today and the remaining three heads do not seem to have been affected YET!

Heres a photo just after I fed the torch, you can see the head closest the camera looks in pretty good condition whilst the two at the back have lost their colouring (zooanthallae?)

How do I go about getting their mojo back

I'm guessing keeping the water in top condition along with adequate feeding and light should help restore the torch to it's former glory, but it may take a few weeks for it to recover as long as it dont catch the same disease...

Thanks...

Water parameters are good, I've moved the coral to get it closer to the lights (200w T5) and will feed it every 3 days. Fingers crossed it gets on the road to recovery!
