I've got a 35 gallon (US), aquarium and I'm worried about putting too many fish in it's lower level. The tank already has these bottom dwelling fish:

2x Bolivian Ram Chiclids
1x Rubbernose pleco
2x Dwarf Gourami's

I would like to add:

3x Zebra Loaches (Botia Striata)
3x Ottos

Do you think these guys would get along or is there just not enough territory?

Gouramis normally tend to dwell in the middle and upper reaches of the tank.

2 rams and a rubbernose should be just fine territorially in a 35g, especially if you provide plenty of caves and other areas to hide and relax.

I would probably pass on the loaches, though the otos would probably do just fine, as they tend to stay well out of the way and cover all areas of the tank, particularly if there is algae to be eaten.

You might consider adding a school of relatively placid mid to upper level fish, such as black phantom tetras or harlequin rasboras.

Hope that helps...

I would personally go for 3+ corys of some sort than zebra loachs as they are very peaceful fish that don't grow big and won't bother your other fish.

That was gonna be my second plan if the loaches didn't work. I guess it's for the better, cory's are cheaper and none of the stores carry zebra loaches around here.

Really? Mine are usually in the lower to middle range.
