Too many snails

Please help i have an infestation of snails in my tank.
I wish to cull the population with out using chemicals.
Are there any fish that I can purchase that will help me cure this problem

Depending on the size of your tank, most botia (loach) species will clear your infestation. There are many species available with sizes to suit all but the smallest tanks.

Just remember to consider the adult size of the loaches and that most species need the company of at least two of their own kind to thrive.

Any botia loach will take care of them. Depending on the size of your tank, the clown loach is the best snail eater. If you have a smaller tank (Under 55 gallons) the Zebra Loach has been known to eat snails.

if you dont want more fish sink a piece of lettuce to the bottom and take it out every night eventually you will have pulled most of the snails out on the lettuce

just to share my experience...

i had a snail infestation, and i refused to use chemical as well.

I bought 4 clown loaches.... clown loaches are very prone to ICH. they gave all my fishes ICH and wipe out my tank....

I got a batch of new fishes, i decided against clown loach this time.... i got 1 tiny puffer.... the puffer started nipping fins of my other fishes... now they are all stress and i have to segregate them...


fish keeping is like playing the sims. but hard cos it doesn't have the tell tale bars. sigh....

i feel that the JUG method may be the best, if you do not want to upset whatever you have at the moment..

Ok! This is my story!
I try every thing to get read of them! Nothing works!
I even use chemicals!!! They come back!!!
Finally I got to baby Clown Loach (1.5”) for my 30g tank!
After 2 weeks all snails was gone!!!!
They grow slow! So, I going to kip them as far as 3-4”, that about 1-2 years according what I read about them! After that – probably new Tank(Home) for them will be logical solution!
