Today I went to my (new) favourite LFS to discover that of the six yoyo loaches the guy had ordered in for me, only three were still remaining. In the 24 hours between shipment arrival and me picking up my fish, 3 loaches either died, were sold or escaped/were eaten in another tank. The manager sent his daughter over to net my loaches for me, but the girl obviously had no idea what she was doing when it came to netting the fast-moving fish. I proceded to take the net from her when she bashed one around too badly. I netted my own loaches, bagged them and tied the bag myself, all while the manager laughed at my determined and concentrated expressions. On my way out of the store, I happened to pass by the bird toy asile.... I had to stop.
I ended up leaving with:
AquaClear70 Filter Foam (replacing one chunk of mine that is a funky green colour from ick meds)
3 Yoyo Loaches (@ 2" a piece, and 1/3 of the cost of my more-local LFS)
1 package of Algae tabs for corys, otos and loaches (was running low!)
1 bottle AquaPlus+
1 package of "Shredders" for my cockatiel
1 rope/wood med-lg parrot toy for my cockatiel (he thinks he's a macaw; my cockatiel is the most destructive bird of life!)
1 promise from the manager that his staff wouldn't lose my loaches next week when I go in to pick up another 3-4.
3 loaches, that should have costed me $15.00, ended up, when all was said and done, costing me close to $50. Nextweek, he can bag my loaches and I'll wait outside the store!
