So I go away for a week in about 4 weeks’ time - question is should I start Fishless cycling now with household ammonia or wait until I’m back? Was thinking of throwing in some Tetra SafeStart too to help boost things along the way!

Unless someone is going to be there to monitor ammonia and add as needed, I would wait until you return, otherwise the cycle might stall and you'll have to start from scratch anyway.

Thank you, that’s what i was worried about - patience grass hopper patience 😂 I shall wait until my return 😩😩

I would either start now, or fill the tank with plants and let them grow while your away. Then come back and do a fish in cycle.

Starting now with ammonia won't be an issue. Just let it cycle and when you come home it should be done.

Adding a heap of live plants now will let them grow and become established. When you get back you can add fish straight away and just monitor water quality for a few weeks.
