Do you have a fan that you can aim onto the surface of the water?
You can also try floating bottles of chilled water on the surface to see if that helps,

If your at home you can also simply just do small water changes throughout the day to stop it rising too high

Is it in a window? On a dark surface? near a radiator? Is the thermometer accurate as 45C would kill everything....

turn the tank lights off, close the curtains, open the windows etc, all will help lower the temp

do not use ice, this will cause major temperature fluctuations which is really bad. make sure you have unplugged the heater (monitor temp tho) increase surface adjitation, open all doors windows, darken the room.

you could do a water change with it a few degrees cooler, it should take a while to heat back up again as the heater will be off. however only do this once every 3 or 4 days to avoid said fluctuations.

heater not evan been pluged in for days

What country do you live in? If your tank really was at 45C I am amazed that your fish have survived, I slow cook pork at 50C from raw to cooked.

OMG are you sure you mean 45c?

Seriously change some water immediately, this bought the temp down on ours and stays cool, as I was panicking over our temp being 27!

Whats the temp in the room?

No way.

I refuse to believe that your water is 45'c. And you say you live in Blighty!

Something is wrong with your thermometer.

i dont belive your water is that hot. either you have an immense amount of hot lights, your room temp is 45C, or your thermom or heater is broke.
