I've just recently gotten a female Molly who's gravid area is notably black as far as I can tell, but her shape doesn't quite fit the squared-off look that should go with that color from what I could tell...

This is the clearest photo I have of her, she's definitely rounded from above, but I'd still like to know just how long I have left before she drops her young if she has any. I'd also fed her a rather hearty meal prior to the photo, so I'm not sure how much that'll make estimating difficult. I could try to take another photo tomorrow, provided she sits still long enough.

So if she is deemed pregnant by all appearances, how long do I have left before I need to consider herding her back into the breeding trap?

She may be , a dark gravid means not much IMO, read the stickies. Also if she is pregnant she is no where near ready to have fry.

I did read through the stickies thoroughly, but I'll release her back in and monitor her, one of the two male guppys was hovering around her a lot.

The molly in your picture may possibly be carrying fry but, if so, she is not far along.
We have a thread, my own, that follows a molly from one drop to her next drop. It has comments along the way of things I was able to observe at each stage. The idea was to let each person judge for themselves what stage their own livebearer had achieved. I have called my link to it My molly's progress. Go ahead and check it out using the link in my signature area. I hope my thread will help you figure out your own molly's progress.
