Tiger Barbs

Hello,

Brought a 4 foot tank at the weekend has 9 bronze corys and 2 BN plecos in ATM, gonna bump the corys up to 15-20 but want something for midwater, i like tiger barbs but if i got a group of 10ish whats the chance of them bothering my corys never actually kept them? thanks

ive read as long as tiger barbs are kept in groups of 6+ they wont bother other fish, but if you dont want to take the risk try pentazona barb they look the same and are peaceful

I wouldn't risk it, there is a much more peaceful and almost identical species- Five banded barb (Puntius pentazona)

I've got a shoal of tiger barbs that live quite happily with a group of zebra loach. The loach swim with them sometimes and the barbs never bother with them.

As long as you've got a large enough group of them, I don't think they're as aggressive as they're often made out to be (though I'd steer clear of things like angels, just to be on the safe side).

I honestly don't think they'd bother your corys.
