Okay you might have saw my previous topic on what i should put in the tank or not but i have received from a neighbor an old 75 gallon tank. The old meaning old and because it does not have a center plastic bar and because the glass is about 1/2" thick. I have a filter the marineland penguin 350 biofilter and have a visitherm stealth 300 watt heater. but i am having a hard time finding a light. The problem is the people who gave me the lighting had the lights touching the glass and the light fixture was a sorta flourescent light fixture found from home depot that had a electronic ballast box made for it. (which is totally cool). and they also gave me a regular 48" aquarium light strip for it too. (this is also very old because it still has the hard white metal still "reflecting" for it). Both were sitting on 2 pieces of glass that had a semi plastic water tight seal on them. But the glass was very dirty had bad stains that i tried to get off and one was broken and held together with a rubber band!! LOL but anyways that is my situation i am in. I was wondering if i could do any mods on the existing top piece to make this center divider to get the two glass peices? or is there another way. Keep in mind i am in a tight budget and i can make things too!!
