Well, the whole idea behind hydroponics is to grow without soil, so ...

Ya, I have just spent way too many hours reading and looking at pictures of Aquaponics and Hydroponics on a commercial scale which is done a little differently, also for growing plants like lettuce or plants with fine roots etc...
 
This seriously hasn't helped me get my essay done... the word aquaponics even worked its way into my essay, I know I have to stop when that happens! Still have 800 words to write in the next... ahh sod it, 12 hours but got to sleep as well!

Here are my two tanks. The big one uses the net pots on top and the planter in the back for filtration. The small tank just uses bubblers under the two big net pots to carry waste up into the media where it get broken down by bacteria and red wigglers.
