Ok, so my first spawn attempt ended in daddy having a huge snack and destroying the bubblenest. The second spawn ended when the power failed in my room and the temp in the tank dropped to about 68 degrees. Well now I have a beautiful pair in the spawning tank, they've been wrapping for about a 1/2 hour with no eggs yet, so fingers crossed that they manage to get eggs. The male is a masked steel near HM with a butterfly geno and the female is an emerald HM with a marble and butterfly geno.

Here's mommy

lovely green color on the mum... for all you genetic buffs, which color would be more likely in the offspring, the steel blue or the green color? and is Butterfly / Marbling reccessive?

I'm hoping to have a varietyof emeralds, turquoise, steel and royal blues, with a variety of solids, marbles, butterflys and marbled butterflys. Not sure if thats what I'll get but fingers crossed.

Yay! I hope you get lots of beautiful babies, Kylie. Dad is just gorgeous, and of course the Mom is... ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but green x steel predominately produces royal blues. You should get BF's, marbles, and some turq/green/steel also.

No offense, but weren't you just talking about having finacial diffuculties? So you're breeding that could result in MORE fish?

Congradulations on the fishies.... can you ship to the US? <- wouldn't mind buying some females once they're old enough. XD
