Thinking Of Upgrading In 6-12 Months

Harry I wouldn't worry to much about the watts mate, if you take the average price per kWh (unitof electricity) and do some maths we can calculate how much this would cost to run :)
So the average price of a unit is about 7p I belive so we take this and times it by your wattage

7 x 86 = 602
now divide it by 1000 ( because a unit is a KILOwatt not a watt)

602 / 1000 = .602p per hour to run

so over a day

.602 x 24 = 14.4p per day

this may vary depending on your unit price

ps an average light bulb is 100w

No problem buddy, didn't liketo think of you stressing over 14p :)

Well use that number in the maths then! BTW I havnt needed to work out consumption costs for a while so my pricing may be off :) 24p per day may be closer now harry

a lot cheaper than smoking etc!!!!

ts a cheap and relaxing healthy hobby!!!

tell your dad that

harry seriously on a tank that size you want a sump, it will cost you more yes, but worth that 10 fold.
some of the laguna pond pumps are cheaper and supposidly quite reliable
plus if you look on the other site there usually loads of ocean runners 2nd hand. they are made to last donkeys years too

ok thanks ben. but we never buy anything 2nd hand  mum never shops at ebay because she thinks that when you buy somthing it will never come. me and my dad say thats is very unlikely. she goes yer it is i have people at work that says.... im like mum you always say you have people at work say stuff like that. im going to get some stuff on ebay my dad will understand.... as soon as he sees the return pumps price (new) i will proberly get the skimmer and the return pump from ebay (if i can get it)

ok i have made my mind up im going to get a 4foot by 2foot by 2foot tank. but i may get a 5foot by 2foot by 18inches so with sump they will be about 400-500L i will only have 1 tang it will most likely be a yellow one but i may get a kole depends on what i can get hold of.

ok it will most likly be a 4 by 2 by 2 foot tank :good: but i may still get a 5 by 2 by 2 foot. so i will plan for both tanks :good:

ok i look on the calculator for a 5foot by 2 foot by 18inchs and it comes up with 425L but on nd aquatics it says 361L so what is the size of the tank? should i just say its 400L? i think the 18inch high one would be better because you get better light if you know what i mean.
