hiya all

i realy want to go marine now. i like freshwater but find marine a lot more intresting.

i have now at the moments a fluval 128 L tank. 3 Feet long, 18 inch heigh, 12 '' deep, i have a hood with twin lights, external filter. internal filter, air pump, 300w heater

well what would i need to go marine, i heared so far atleast a power head, RO, live plants

is this all expensive an dhow hard are they to keep, im already a new fishkeep so will i find it 2 hard. also embarrising but not the best on the finacial way at the moment

Wheeler I have just started on the salty side and so far I have spent just over £400, but that included the tank (fluval25), the only thing I see missing in your list is the LR and skimmer which I am not realy experienced enough to say you realy need, these were recommended to me by the LFS when I told them what I wanted.

You seem to have more or less all you need to get started. Cost wise I think it will be the actual stock where the money comes in depending on how you set up and what you want out of your tank.

LR is definitely a must. It is your means of filtration. It is recommended to get 1.5-2 lbs/1 g. There's a good section of what is needed in the marine section. Depending on if you want corals or just FOWLR, you may need to upgrade your lights too. I am unsure of what lights you currently own.

btw you can find some great deals on craigslist for LR as it is very expensive at the LFS. Plus you have the benefit of getting it from an established tank. I actually have some for sale for cheap if you're in the Houston area.
