Do fish turn into crazy psychopath when its pitch black in the room at night?
Why do I come to that conclusion? I've been keeping fish for almost 2 years now and I had accidentally and sometimes had to leave my fish light off 5 times and each time, I've awakened to something bad.
In my 40 gallon have always consisted of neons, glowlight, red eye, assorted guppies and cory.
The first time, I had a cae (before I knew they were bad fish) for at least 3 months and the next morning one of my guppy anal area was completely bitten off clean.
2nd time my one of my red eyes got his top fin bitten off.
3rd time my cory had like a skin like hanging on top of his eye like he ran into something or it was attacked.
4th time I added a betta in for a month and the next morning had nipped fins
Just yesterday I wasnt home and forgot to turn on my dim night light, one of my tetra lost its eyes.
Remember all these happened when I leave the light completely off. now some one wrote that because fish can't see in pitch black they sometimes can peck at find, eyes etc... Because they think its food? Can someone relate this with me?
