The road to hell is paved with good intentions...

We have trip switches in our house. Can be a nuisance but could save a life! Lightning sometimes trips the switches. We also have a circuit breaker for the electric wire that leads to the pond. One year the wire fell to the ground and my husband mowed right over it with his tractor and sliced it! :(

If you severed an artery in a tank... would the blood harm the fish?

Because I was doing the washing up once and I was cleaning a wine glass and it broke with my hand inside it from the pressure. I punctured a vein and there was A LOT of blood - the whole sink was filled with water/blood mixture, it looked like I was doing the washing up in blood.

So I'd imagine an artery would have more blood than a vein, and also artery blood is thicker so it would go further in the water... would it hurt the fish to be swimming in blood? or would it oxygenate the water :hey: ?

it may make the water smell as it breaks down if theres loads.

i cut my hand on the lid last night and dripped in bloody, to be honest my shrimp food makes more mess.

Sounds like a fake story to me, I doubt anybody could be that stupid.
Hmmm... I dunno about that. There are some really stupid people in this world...

If you've severed an artery and you still have time to worry about water quality....you are truely a dedicated fish keeper :p
I wondered how that guy died, I've seen him mentioned here a few times now. Yipes!!
