What are the most common colors of bettas available where you live and where exactly do you live in the world too? What is the color/s of your betta/s?
This is just a curiosity thread, but im still very interested to know as i have always wondered(even though im not hugely into bettas or anything) what are the most common or rare colors in different peoples areas plus what colors did they go for or happened to get when they bought their betta/s?

I live in Somerset(England) in a 'lil town called Wincanton, we only have one very small lps/lfs and the most common colored bettas they sell there are pure red or pure royal blue VT bettas, the next nearest lfs i know(which is massive) is one in a nearby town called Yeovil, their bettas are mostly white vt bettas with metallic blue or green coloring.
My own betta which i have had for a while now, was white/ivory when i first bought him(he was very sick) but over the months has become a lovely/weird(can't decide which :p ) skin color sort of orange.

How about you guys :) ?

In the little ol' city of Perth in Oz, we get probably every type of Betta Splendens, and rarley any wilds. We get VTs/Plakats/DTs/CTs/HMs etc and those new fancy type "rose tails" and spade tails". We even get giant bettas! :)

My old bettas(gave them to a friend to free up space) Were Orange(VT),Purple/Blue(CT) and cream-ish with red "freckles" on its tail and fins (VT) :) and i had a Red wash Plakat :)

i've seen a mix, in LFS's anyway, all VTs, you get the normal blue/reds and turquoisey ones. I have also seen pink/blue marbles, red butterflys, reds, and my pineapple one whos in my avatar.

my other betta is turquoise. they were both from the same lfs.

Here in Vancouver BC it's red VT's, although for some reason my LFS has been bringing in a lot of white lately.

Niran has a sky blue body with red. Sakda is pure red. Chet is purple with darker purple butterfly markings. Aroon is marble turquoise with red and green. And my newest fish is chocolate with some mustard gas markings, with a blue wash.

When buying a betta I don't go for color, I usually go for activity and personality.

Rarest looking bettas i have seen in my main lfs was an emerald green VT(he was stunning  , it was like he just to cool to fit in with all the other mutt-like lfs fish) and in my other lfs, a yellow plakat and a silver plakat.

Blue VTs seem to rule the roost, where I'm at. Red VTs seem to come in a close second, with marbles dead last. I see CTs on occasion, but not frequently. Other tail types, simply don't make it here. Maybe that's why I'm partial to marbles. *shrug*

My two bettas are red and marble, VT.

My LFS has all VTs and they are either red or blue...thats as much as I can see into their opaque little boxes :(

Still stunning fish but it would be nice to see something more unusual.

I live in Northampton, UK, and there is one shop called duston aquatics which always have various colours, i got one which is pink, purple, red and white, very nice. I had a green and purple but swaped it with the shop for my present one, They have beautiful colours...and usually stock about 10 at a time.Every week i see different ones!

Hmm, the ole red/blue/blue w. red wash are most common, Pets At Home seems to get most selection in for males, suprisingly, they had a gorgeous pinky guy in yesterday. And a blue male with less fins than a female :/

Frankly, the bettas my lfs gets in are not the most attractive fish. :/

They are almost all veiltails with a crowntail appearing once every few months. They are usually dark red or blue or a pretty turquoise, but it seems that the ones with the nicest colors are usually in the worst condition. A lot of them are combinations of red and blue. It's rare to see one with other coloring.

I can't resist looking at them though. :D

the pet store i got to near guelph gets mostly red and blue guys, although most of them look like combtails rather than veils, they also have a lot of marbles and cambodians. BUt they have a farily decent supply for crowntails, dts and deltas with a few females every so often.

The most common color in my lfs is bettas with a mixture of green, red, alittle blue, black but occasionaly they will get some blue ones in. My first betta is a just like what I just described my second betta has a blues body and 50% of his fins are blue and the rest of his fins are pink and my third betta is a solid blue and a previous betta I got from the same shop was solid red it looked awesome but unfortuanly once I put him in the 2.5g he died for some odd reason. Oh and I live in america in a state called kentucky.

The local PetSmart and WalMart usually have red VT bettas, sometimes blue VT bettas.

George - deep red VT - PetSmart
Barracuda - blue marble VT - WM
Mercedes - blue female something - family owned pet store
Challenger - mostly white marble VT - family owned pet store
Mustang - red PK - Wuv
Porsche - orangish red PK - Wuv
