I feel your pain Trod, i had similar issue's when fitting my skimmer, not having a sump tank can be a bit of a nightmere can't it.

i believe that would put the skimmer at to much presser i think it has to be level with the tank eg clamp to top level :good:
 
Thanks Guys, I shall put shelf so skimmer sits as it would if on side of tank :good: ordered pipes and bubble stop today, should be picking them up Friday. Then hopefully get shelf fitted over weekend. Nearly ready for water :yahoo:

State of play as of now, water up to temperature, 10kg of salt added, I'll wait for that to dissolve then add more in morning.
