The Horror Betta's Life!

Aww thanks!

Means alot to me havin everyones support.

I'm even thinking of becoming a Breeder..... Not sure yet tho.
I have a spare outer building and with a oil heater it would stay warm and of course water changes of there tanks every other day.

Downside for me is finding Bettas to breed everyone near me has VT's in there LFS's so it makes it tricky

If you want to breed dont use pet shop bettas get some from breeders like Amerce, Joby, KG Betta or KP Aquatics or me in 2 months :hyper:

Petshop ones are usually too old to bring off good stock and usually have bad breeding :good:

Dear Friends.

As some of you will know I bought 2 Female Bettas today. There picture is in the post "VT or not VT".
Anyway I didn't wanna bring this to forum but after thinking it over most of the day I thought it was only right to show what Pet Stores are capable of!

Today started as normal, Went to town for afew bits and bobs for my new home and I decided to call in the Pet Store in town.
Anyway when I went to the Aquatics area I saw somthing more disgusting then I had ever seen!

Not only was the Bettas in cups! BUT!
The cups were a size I didn't believe at first!

I have included some pics to compare the cup to other objects found around the home!

I know stealing is wrong but I had to take one of the cups are proof!

When I spoke to store manager he said "So what they will either sell or be dead soon so we won't have to worry"

You know, Im not picking sides on this as its a debate between two sides, but I just thought it seemed like you changed your story a little. Notice the bolded, then look at this quote.

"The Betta I bought was from the cup yes, There not supposed to give the cups away but he just shoved it in a bag with the betta in so it's down to him. I was informed to return to cup when I got my fish home.
But there wasn't time for that as the inspector was already alerted."

Sorry I didn't know how to use the quote on the second part. Anyways, just saying, if your gonna argue you a point please stick to your original story. If you took the cup as proof you took it. Not take it first, then the guy put it in the bag.

Edit: Btw, Im glad you got the place inspected and closed. Those cups are freaking tiny. I have some at home and they are the tiniest things ever.

Valid point but when that was put it was under the intension of not taking the cup back.as I explained. And not taking it back would of been stealing.Edit: Btw, Im glad you got the place inspected and closed. Lol to be honest, I dont know what we have them for! They've been sitting there for ages and ages untouched lol. You know, its one of those things you see all the time when you dont need it, but the second you find a use for it, its gone. lol.

I actualy want 15 of the lil white tubs....
NO Not for fish! It's for Jellys!

I thought they would be good for making Mini Jellys for partys.
Hmmm I'm probs so weird for having that idea.

But still making lil jellys would be perfect!

Yum; jellies are good.
LOL.
But yeah, like I said...
Bettas should be treated with RESPECT not NEGLECT! :D

Update:

The store manager has refused to follow the rules and the owner of the strore is now taking full control, He informed the inspectors that he was unaware that the circus show they call fish keeping was going on under his noise.
He has assured the council things will be done for the fish and Betta will be getting 2G Glass holding pens, With some form of heating system.

They will no longer be dealing with reptiles as they don't have the full care plans.

Thought everyone would like to know.

I have been to store today poppy to look and the owner seems really friendly.
He was disgusted himself to see what was going on.

I have even talked to him about lanching a website to bring awareness for this issue(freewebs probs)

Wow would have thought the owner would of had a little more to do with the business. But it sure sounds like a win win, well done

Yeah, people can be sneaky sometimes.
The owner should have known about it, though. :(
But oh well; at least it's being taken care of. :D

Yay for the TFF Mafia! :big_boss: Also, Leedsboi, if you look at the freewebs site in my sig, and could you send me the story of you helping those bettas to [email protected]. I'd love to put it up on my site! And by the way, Swack was wrong. You saved several livelyhoods because the officials went easy on them. If an inspector were to come by at random, the owner could have lost his company for good.
