The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side

Ok so i am sorry if this is getting a tad picture heavy. BUT i found the good camera and my photobucket account is working now :hyper: :hyper:

So I have just but the mossed wood back in the tank. I think in a few weeks when the moss takes a proper hold and starts to grow its going to look quality and by then I will have enough moss to do the wall so it should look even better :hyper:

Heres the snaps.

Well its been a little while since an update.

The tank has been doing really well. The co2 and dosing with EasyCarbo and ProFito is working very well.

Think I have just about got the right balance as there is almost no algea (only on one piece of wood very close to the light)

All of the crypts are doing very well. There was a bit of melt last week but there are recovering now

I had to reposistion the power head as all the moss was stopping the flow. Little bubbles of Co2 now getting all around the tank (even down to the substrate)

And FTS

Now that I am properly happy with the setup I think its time to try some HC.
Going to plant it tonight along with some jarva fern for under the filter out let and across the wood.

I am going to plant the HC Cuda under and around the main bit of wood on the right.

So here are the goodies. Not bad I thought 3.50 each or 6 for £15. (Obviously went for the 6)

I was really pleased with the quality of the Cuda and the ferns were more then fine only one or 2 leaves with damage.

Pots and mineral wool removed and bad leaves snipped off.

Mineral wool cut down to help anchor them into the gravel

cut and sorted into bit sizes chunks.

I really like the cuda gives the tank floor a supper bright look, Hopefully it will take hold alright and spread. If it does alright i may remove
some of the forground plants and have a proper Hc Carpet. But we will see.

I still need to get hold of a little bit more gravel to build up the right up and around the stump. Think that would look quality with cuda on top trailing up and around the bottom of the tree. Again tho we will see how well what i have got does.

I moved the Anubis to under the upright stick to make room for the Jarva Fern.

Wow, you've got a lot of picture... Not a problem, I love picture. My internet connection at home, however, does not. I'll take a look a this journal a bit better when I get to work. :)

Looking good but like I said dunno if the HC will do well in front of the stump, looks very shaded there.

I am hoping it should be fine if you look at it properly the line of shade from the stump is a good 2" behind the Hc Cuda so it shouldnt affect it to much, If it wants to grow that way then great if not then never mind, As long as it grows in the main bit of the tank i will be very happy.

What is the best way to promote good growth with Hc. I really want a carpet, there is some new shoots already starting to poke out of the clumps, Do I trip them or just let them do there thing.

Was just feeding the little fellows (Rasboras) and couldn't resist taking a few quick pics of the new growth on the Hc (obviously because my Journal does not have enough pics, LOL)
